No phone, no cable, no truck, no Alaska?!

Dear grandparents,

This week has seen a lot of changes around our house. My mommy got rid of her iPhone (that leaves me with just an iPad, oh woe is me ;), we dropped our cable service which means no more 24 hour news (I miss you Contessa!), and we traded in the truck I came home from the hospital in for a smart car. Whew, and that was all before Wednesday! I won't get to ride in the new car until my carseat is forward facing, but Tok has already been out in it.

This picture is of me in my new cart cover. My mommy thought that as long as I am sitting up, pretty much on my own, that not lugging the carseat inside sounded sweet. Then on Wednesday we went to see Cale and Kait for the morning. Cale gave me a truck to play with when I first got there, well it might have been a little above my pay grade because I ended up whacking my face with it and giving myself a scratch. Mommy decided that a wooden train car was a much better option for me, but she thanked Cale for trying for me.

I also got to hang out with daddy while mommy ran errands, we are thinking of starting a band.

And that is about when the week fell apart for us. We were supposed to go to Alaska to see some of you grandparents, but fate, the fickle witch, would have otherwise and we missed our plane. My mommy and daddy were really upset, it was too much for me to handle so I stayed quiet and then fell asleep in the car on the way back to the house. The next morning I was wisked off to the mountains for some impromptu camping. It was great! I really enjoyed being outside and slept like a log all bundled between my parents on Tok's dog bed (they forgot the pad to sleep on, but remembered the dog bed, go figure). The rest of this is the camping pictures, enjoy!

Rest Stop!

Mommy enjoying a pre-hike bee, then a pre-hike pee and a water chug ;)-

Daddy and I at the trail-head.

On the ascent...

Mommy and Tok attempting a climb at 11,000 ft...I think Tok's face says it all.

I loved my first river!

Getting to this island was fun, Daddy had to walk over a log bridge by our campsite!

I was mesmerized by the fire...

My newest noise is really more of a bbbbbbppppppptttttt, that looks like this when caught as a still ;)

See you all next week!
To all of my grandparents,
With love,
Leif

Shots...lame...

Dear Grandparents,

Here is a video of dad and me playing in a half pipe. I am pretty sure that by the time I am old enough to grind this myself it will seem tame thanks to my hyperactive pops!

I got booster shots on Tuesday. I don't know if you are familiar with this medieval practice of shoving a piece of metal into your muscle and injecting, what I am sure is liquid fire, into it. I know I just got here, but seems to me like someone would have invented an alternate delivery method. Just because we have no words doesn't mean that it doesn't suck! I tried to stick it out, but I only was able to smile through the first one, the next two really hurt and that scared me, but it wasn't so bad because my mommy was there and I was able to calm down and give that nurse a good scowling before I left ;)

I have been focusing my mat time on building up my core strength, I am really hoping to be crawling by the time I get to Alaska so I can really wow all those grandparents.

Whew! Wednesday night was wild! My daddy had to go to Aspen for work, so Mommy invited "Aunt" Kait over for a mommies date. We rocked out until I finally passed out at 9:15! Wow that was a long night. I also got to "watch" the Sound of Music for the first time, I really liked when Mommy and Aunt Kait song the songs to me, it made me squeal with giggles!

These pictures are from our walk on Saturday. We went to the Bromley Creek Park. It was a nice walk and sunny.

I got my first mosquito bite that afternoon, grrrrr.

I am really starting to get the hang of getting food to my mouth!

On Sunday we met our friends Kelly and Kaela at the pool. It was way fun but super chilly! I think my mom is going to have to get my skinny tush a wetsuit before we start lessons in June. Kaela offered me a ride in her star floaty and I managed to fail around enough that I was propelled toward Mommy, she was so excited! When I got too cold, my dad took me over to the hot tub and held me above the warm water until I stopped shivering. The rest of our day was pretty lazy, just hung out at home, but I like that too :)

Love,
Leif

Shade and Dos and Sticker Tattoos

Dear Grandparents,

This week was big for me, I got my first hair cut! My mommy said that I looked like I had the mange so it was time to clean me up! All of the girls at the salon were so excited that I came in. I did pretty good with this new experience, the buzzing of those clippers was a little much for me, but we took it slow and by the end they barely bother me anymore :) I don't have a good picture of my new do all done up, but he is one after my bath that showcase the faux hawk.

I also helped my daddy put together a canopy on the patio for mommy and I to play in. Mommy showed daddy a picture of the Leaky B@@b administrator nursing a 5 week old baby in a carrier, while using a power drill. It inspired daddy to do more stuff while wearing me. We also made dinner and went for a walk with Tok everyday that it was nice out.

I also got to hang out with Cale while mommy and Kaitlin did yoga. We played with stickers and I got my first tatoo!

It was pretty warm last week but this week we were able to pull out some of the warm clothes one last time.

I can't wait to see what we do next week!
Love you all!
Your Grandson,
Leif
