Teething Hell Hike

Dear Grandparents,

This week's playgroup was at the Denver zoo. This picture is by the monkey island. Leif wasn't that impressed with the animals, and I just ended up feeling bad for them, lol.

This little girl is Audrey, she is almost two and Leif just wants to touch and grab at her, but as you can see, she is having none of that baby manhandling.

So, I didn't plan on wearing Leif around the entire zoo and looking like super mommy, which I totally did ;), but the wrong stroller was in the car and the tires were flat...freakin' Colorado goat heads, my arch nemesis, you win once again!

Here is my teething monster exploring the wonderful world of living room floor.

Don't let this smile fool you, this mischievous little booger knows not to crawl on the wood table behind him in the picture, but as soon as my back is turned he is halfway on top of it! Heart attack, why yes, I will take one right over here please.

On Monday we planned a hiking trip, we picked a trail that wasn't too long and which Tok could be off leash, just outside of Boulder, and that was when we stopped having fun. This trailhead was a mile and a half up another trail, which itself a near vertical hike, and I grabbed the small water bottle only...needless to say, we got to the trailhead we originally wanted to go to and had to head back if not for us, and don't get me wrong it was, then also for the poor dog. Not to worry, Tok received what water we had to give him on the way down, and then more back at the car. Note to self, bring more water you spaz.

Back by the car, having a little rest in the shade...

Pretty park, pretty family.

Kid loves grass now. Loves it so much he has to pull it all out.

Getting sleepy, time to head home.

Suburban farming and some good for the earth, clean fun.

Dear Grandparents,

You will have to excuse the break in character, I am exhausted and will have to write this in my own voice, about sapped of creativity at the moment.

This last weekend was vey productive for us. We dug out a garden and compost pit and went for Leif's first bike ride.

We hung out in the wader pool...

Did some backyard dancing...

And were all very tired by Monday night (our Sunday).

Also earlier in the week we went to a playgroup and got to see Riker and Trang (Trang and I went to see Harry Potter DH2 on Friday, it was amazing!). Leif is really into Riker, but Riker is only lukewarm on him, but that is okay, because Trang loves him!

This next picture is my new favorite :)

...and here he is just hanging out.

To all of my son's grandparents,
With love,
Shannon

Fun with Grandpa Marc!

Dear Grandparents,
Sorry that it has been almost two weeks! Grandpa Marc was in town and things got hectic. We had a lot of fun with him, we set up my baby pool and got some bath toys and new books (I might have gotten a little spoiled).

Then on Sunday we all went to a Rockies game, Grandpa made sure I had the right outfit for the day...

"Oh holy crap, am I excited!"

So there were a lot more people there than I expected...I might have been a wee bit overwhelmed at first.

But Daddy helped me get past it with some silliness.

I found put that Shoulder rides are fun,but you have to hang onto the ridee's hair...

I was able to pull myself up all on my own!

Mommy says I look like such big boy in the picture :)

This coming week Daddy is taking Moomy and I to Aspen for his work and we are tacking on a camping trip at the end. I am sure we will have lots of fun pics for you all!

To all of my grandparents,
With love,
Leif
